This Yoda action figure was released individually carded in the The Power Of The Force 2 toy line in 1996, and marked the first time that a new Yoda action figure was released since the original vintage Yoda from the 1980's. The figure is based on Yoda's appearance in The Empire Strikes Back, while he trained Luke Skywalker to become a Jedi Knight.

The figure has 4 swivel joints, one in the neck, two in each shoulder, and one in the hip. Since the legs are molded in one block and can't be moved individually, the figure stands very securely on its own. Kenner included two accessories with Yoda, a walking stick, and a jedi-training-backpack. The walking stick fits only very loosely into either of the figure's hands, and once you move the figure, it's likely to fall out. The bulky backpack is big enough to hold the jedi master, but it's a tight fit, and Yoda needs to be squeezed in a little.

Yoda's paint application is OK for back in the days, with darker brown/dirt towards the bottom of the figure and a cleanly painted face. The figure's sculpt, despite its age and basically no legs, still looks good. Even the face sculpt is done well, and Yoda has about the correct height when placed next to other Star Wars figures. Overall though, it's an outdated, but still charming Yoda action figure.
